PHILANTHRO PRODUCTIONS HOSTS LAUNCH PARTY FOR THE PREMIERE OF INVISIBLE
CHILDREN’S GROUNDBREAKING NEW DOCUMENTARY
Young Adults will Join the Founders of Invisible Children for the Debut Screening of “The Rescue”
LOS ANGELES (February 12, 2009) – Philanthro Productions, a non-profit that creates unique opportunities for
young adults to engage in charitable giving, today announced a new partnership with Invisible Children, a global,
social and political movement using the transformative power of film narrative to change the lives of the people in
war-torn northern Uganda. Philanthro will host Reveal: A Multimedia Nightlife Experience to benefit Invisible
Children at CineSpace in Hollywood, CA on Friday, February 20. The event will serve as the world premiere of
“The Rescue,” the latest compelling documentary from Invisible Children.
For the fourth consecutive event, Philanthro Productions will be donating 100% of cover charge proceeds to its
non-profit partner. Funds will support Invisible Children’s campaign to raise awareness about rebel leader Joseph
Kony and the child soldiers his army has trapped in the ongoing violent war in Uganda and surrounding regions.
“This one-of-a-kind event will reveal a hidden world to the young professionals of LA through the debut of
Invisible Children’s newest documentary,” said Austin Kiessig, 25, co-president of Philanthro Productions. “The
leaders of Invisible Children have told a story meant to inspire individuals in the West to create change halfway
across the globe — we are very pleased to host Invisible Children’s founders at Reveal and help deliver their
compelling message.”
Following the screening, the venue will be transformed into a blow-out event where patrons can top off the night
amidst Philanthro’s signature touch of top-tier DJs — including the renowned DJ Sleeper — special guests, raffle
prizes and more. DJ Sleeper's mash-up sets form a one-of-a-kind musical experience; his "Counting Lasers" was
billed as the download of the summer in the Miami Herald, and he will be opening for Common, Ludacris and Keri
Hilson in 2009. Also working CineSpace will be DJ Hectic, known for spinning at some of LA’s hottest venues
including Vanguard, Avalon, Spider Club, Forbidden City and many others.
CineSpace is located at 6356 Hollywood Blvd., 2nd Level, in Hollywood, CA. Doors are open from 7:30pm – 2am;
ages 21+ only. Cover charge of $10 before 9:00pm, $20 after. The film presentation featuring Invisible Children’s
founders begins at 8:30pm with the party to follow. Guest list available at www.philanthroproductions.org.

About Invisible Children
(www.invisiblechildren.com):
Established in 2005, Invisible Children is a social, political, and global movement using the transformative power of film narrative to change lives. By inspiring youth culture to value creativity, idealism, and sacrifice, the movement fuels the some of the most effective, adaptable, and innovative programs in the non-profit world. Invisible Children, Inc. was formed after the release of the film "Invisible Children: Rough Cut", which documents a war in northern Uganda in which children are abducted by a rebel army and forced to fight as child soldiers. Currently, Invisible Children is putting 740 kids through school and employs more than 250 men and women living in this war-torn region, with plans to see that number grow. The organization is also rebuilding 11 war-affected schools. Programs on the ground were developed by the people of northern Uganda and seek to improve the quality of life for individuals through quality education, enhanced learning environments and innovative economic opportunities.
