Children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned come under the protection of the Los Angeles County Juvenile Dependency Court system. Children's Law Center was created by the Superior Court in 1990 to serve as appointed counsel for these youth. With a 220 person staff of lawyers, paralegals, and investigators, CLC represents more than 90% of the nearly 30,000 children under the jurisdiction of the dependency court.
